What I'm Loving: Leopard!

I love love love leopard print things right now! I like all leopards: traditional, fun colors, big print, little print! I am really loving leopard print in fun colors! I really want to find a fun leopard print cardigan or something for fall! Now I wouldn't wear any of these things together, but one at a time would be cute!

Do you have any fun leopard print things? Or what are you really loving right now?

A Basic Starter Makeup Kit

Do you know someone who is just starting to get interested in makeup? Or maybe you yourself are starting to get interested in makeup. Well you need a basic makeup kit! A basic kit will be a good start for any girl, and it'll be so much fun to expand the kit! I made this kit with younger girls in mind. Specifically I'm thinking of my stepsister who is 11 and just started sixth grade. I think she'll want to start wearing makeup soon. I know I started wearing makeup in the sixth grade, and let me tell you I would have loved a basic kit. Instead I bought random crazy things. My favorite look in sixth grade was chunky thick silver glitter eyeliner and colored mascara, like blue and purple lol! I was so stylin' (that's sarcasm if you couldn't tell haha)!

Anyways, I tried to keep price in mind with my choices. I know some girls are going to be using their allowance to buy their own makeup so I kept that in mind. I also really tried to do things that were easy to find. You should be able to find everything at Target, Walmart, or a drug store. Also every brand/color can be substituted for another brand or color. This is just an idea of what to look for. All products for a basic kit should be easy to use and kind of simple.

First thing to look for is a pressed powder, or if you have blemishes or anything you might want to go for more coverage with a foundation to powder compact. A good mascara is also great. I personally really like the Covergirl Lash Blast mascara, I'd probably start out with a brownish black one, as black can be a little harsh on younger girls. A light pink blush should work on most skintones, also it's harder to look like a clown with a really light pink. A neutral eyeshadow quad would be good too. I like doing a quad because you can do a couple different looks with it. And last but not least, a sheer pinky gloss to complete the look!

If you want to add a little extra to the kit you can do a cute makeup bag to keep everything in. A simple eyeshadow brush and blush brush will be good starters too. I really like E.L.F.'s brushes, they're pretty good quality and only $1! I'd do an eyelash curler for slightly advanced beginners, or just show a beginner the right way to use it. And makeup remover wipes, so much easier than regular makeup remover.

Hope this kit gives you some ideas on putting together a basic makeup kit! This kit would also make a great present!
