Nails: POW! Leopard!

POW! BOOM! ZAP! KABOOM! ..... ok that's all the comic book noises I can think of. Anyways, aren't these POW! leopard nails fun? I mean who doesn't think POW! when they think leopard?? These nails were super fun to do and got lots of looks! The leopard spots are very easy to do once you get the hang of it. The POW! nail is a little harder, I'd say an advanced nail artist could easily do it.

When I do leopard spots I first use the bigger end of  my dotting tool to make irregular circles, it doesn't matter really how they look, leopard spots aren't round anyways. Then I take my nail art pen and outline them. I like to do very small strokes when I do the outline, almost like dotting it up and down to make the line. I think this makes it look more "realistic". I also like to leave some spots open and some closed. Just experiment some and you'll get the hang of what works for you.

For the POW! nail I first painted my base color. Then I used a nail art striper brush to draw the zig-zag lines and then filled it in. After that dried I did the black outline. Once all of that dried I did the POW, I'd never done letters on my nails before, and let me tell you it wasn't the easiest thing to do. My nails are kind of small so it was a little hard to fit the letters without squishing them. I finished with the tiny dots, I believe I just used the nail art pen.

Finish with a good top coat and you're ready to walk around saying "POW! LEOPARD!!!" hehe ok maybe that's just what I did :) These nails could be done with the POW! on every nail or alternate POW! and leopard. Also you could put a different word in the bubble!

Da Bomb.... Bath Bomb

I LOVE bath bombs!! Yep I really do, they're fizzy and they smell good and they're pretty and they're fun... and and haha! You may be thinking I'm going to write all about Lush bath bombs, but I'm not! I do like Lush bath bombs and I've tried several of them. I can't say that I'll never buy Lush bath bombs again, because there are several I like quite a bit. What I am going to write about are some super awesome bath bombs I got for Christmas last year from my sister! These bath bombs are from an Etsy shop called Antoinette's Bath House by Coutureblonde21.

Like I said, my sister bought me some for Christmas last year. She got me the dozen large set, which at the time the shop had a sale going where if you bought the dozen you got four free! So I got SIXTEEN lovely, great smelling bath bombs. I'm the type of person that likes to save special products, to make them last longer. So even though I've had these for like eight months I've only used nine of them. I tend to not take as many baths (I still take showers though lol) in the summer months because its just too hot here in Texas.

Now let me tell you about these awesome bath bombs. First of all they are big! Like bigger than a tennis ball big! The shop says they are between eight and nine ounces. Lush's bombs range from 2.1-6.3 ounces. They come in little clear bags with a curly ribbon tied around the top, and a sticker with the name. They also have fun names, which I like. These bombs are all very colorful and decorated nicely; some have glitter, confetti, or flowers. Ok on to the important part, the smell! When you first open the box a wonderful mix of scents come wafting out. It's a little bit like when you first walk in a Lush store and all the smells are mingling together. The individual scents are all nice and strong, but not too strong. Occasionally you might get a bomb that's been crushed a little in the mail, bombs are pretty fragile. Some you can squeeze and crush, I know this because my silly mom squeezed one haha. But don't be too worried about this because the bombs work just fine still.

Ok it's time to drop the bomb.... in the water, hehe! Most of the bombs I've used so far fizz at an average speed, not too fast not too slow. I've had, I think one that fizzed too fast and like two that fizzed too slow. All the ones I've used so far have colored the water very nicely and most have left a frothy goodness on the top of the water! I'm the type who wants my water to be a pretty color, because a plain bath with regular ol' clear water is just boring. Once the bomb dissolves you are left with a super fragrant, relaxing bath. These scents are, like I said before, strong but not too strong. And best of all once you are out of the bath the scent lingers on your skin! I'm talking about some serious staying power, like the next day you're still smelling yummy! Also, I've noticed that my entire bathroom stays nice smelling for a while too.

I'm not going to say I've absolutely loved every bomb I've tried, because some of the scents weren't my favorite. I don't particularly care for rosey smelling things, or any strong florals for that matter. Rosey smelling things remind me of some of my really old aunts that I only see like once every 5 or so years and after they hug you, you smell like a big stinky rose bush. I also am a little picky about add ons in bombs, I don't really like loose flowers in my bath, they stick to me and the tub.

Before I go into reviewing the individual bombs I've tried, lets talk about price. Are you ready for this? These bombs cost $4, that's right FOUR DOLLARS!! And the set of a dozen cost $38, that's $3.17 a bomb! The cost of Lush's bombs are between $3.95-$6.95. I think when my sister got mine they were having a Christmas sale that if you bought the dozen you got the four free. I really hope they have that sale again this year, because that's an awesome deal! Also about the dozen, they allow you to pick your scents or get a random set, which is what my sister did for me. The shop also ships internationally!

Now to review the ones I've used so far! I'm not very good with identifying specific scents used but I'll do my best to describe them. Every time I use one of these I put notes in my phone so I won't forget what they were like, hopefully I took good notes lol. I'll also list the ones I have left to review. I'll be posting another review for the rest once I've used them!

Christmas Morning:
This is the first one I used, I used it the morning after Christmas morning lol! I don't see this one in the shop at the moment but I think that's because it's a seasonal one, I really really hope they bring it back. This bomb is a pretty lightish green and had a snowflake sequin on top. It also had little white snowflakes inside, that melted. It tinted the water a very pretty green color. Ok the scent on this bomb is sooo sooo good! It smells like Christmas and peppermint, and snow, and sandalwood, and kind of like men's cologne (which I love). The smell seriously lasted all day! I absolutely loved this one, I would buy several more!!

Flights of Fancy:
This one is a bright sky blue with swirls of white throughout. In the shop it now has a bird stamped on it, mine didn't have this but I think it's a new addition. This is one of the ones that dissolved slower. It left the water a pretty sky blue with frothy white on top, it looked just like the sky with clouds swirled across it! I liked the scent of this one a lot too, it was very clean smelling with a sort of clean laundry scent, with men's cologne undertone scent.

Gold Digger:
Fun name! This one was bright pink with gold glitter on top! I love glitter in bath products, this one could have used even more glitter! It had a mild-ish scent a little rosey, not too bad though. The shop says it has a fruity floral scent, which I agree with.

The Other Woman:
Pretty purple with a bigger purple flower on top. This one does have flowers through out, which I personally could do without. It also has little dissolving pearls throughout! I thought this one was interesting because once it touched the water the bomb turned kind of blue but then has frothy blue, purple and pink foam on top of the water. It smelled kind of perfumey with musk undertones, it was a little strong but still good.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry:
Unfortunately, I didn't like this one. I loved the look it was so cute. It's pink dipped in "chocolate". It had a very strong artificial strawberry scent which I didn't like at all. The "chocolate" on top is made of cocoa butter, I thought it melted weird and it left a film of waxy stuff on the top of the water, on me, and the tub. It's the only one that left my tub kinda dirty looking. It also had real strawberry seeds in it, at first I thought "cool seeds!" then I realized they were everywhere on me and the tub. I didn't stay in the bath for very long at all, I had to drain the tub and take a shower to scrub the scent and "chocolate" film off. I'm sure there are lots of people who would love this bomb, it just wasn't for me.

Redheaded Slut:
Hehehe I think this name is funny, also because I have red hair! It was a pink-ish red and white swirl with red glitter on top. Again more glitter, haha! I liked that I could still see some of the glitter on me after I got out of the bath though! It had a nice musk scent to it that I liked a lot. I'm a bit like a little kid, and can't leave the bombs alone while they dissolve, I pick them up out of the water to play with them. This one left my fingers a little bit stained pink, which I'm sure is because I kept picking it up. This one dissolved a bit faster than the others, but it was crushed just a little on the edges.

Sex on the Beach:
Nice turquoise blue with tan "sand" color on the bottom. It had a fruity lemony/orangey scent, and almost a kind of Lush smell (like a mix of all their scents). It made the water a pretty ocean color and had a very subtle blue glitter in it. It also fizzed very fast, which is ok. It seemed like one my sister would like because it was sort of lemony, which is a scent she really likes!

Drops of Karma:
Orange! A little on the softer side. It had orange star confetti. The only problem I have with the confetti is that it doesn't dissolve so some of it stuck to the sides of the tub and stayed there for a couple showers lol. I think this one smells like Lush's Karma products. It did turn the water kind of yellow, not too appealing, I would have like it to be more orange. I think this one had some sort of oil in it to be moisturizing, but left me a little greasy feeling it was ok once I dried off though.

Venus:
Lightish blue with tiny blue heart sequins on top! It dissolved very slowly, and didn't tint the water too much. It was also a little men's cologne smelling (got to think of a better way to describe this smell lol) It reminded me a bit of Ralph Lauren perfume. I did like this one a lot!

Left to try still:
The Girl Next Door
Orange You Glad I'm Naked (hehe)
Doing the Herbal
Love Lust
Golden Showers
Antoinette (saving because it has lots of glitter!)
Sugar Coma (saving for last because it smells soo good, like Sweet tarts!!)

I really recommend trying this shop if you love bath bombs, or know someone who does! I think these would make great gifts or even as party favors for birthday parties, bachelorette parties, wedding showers, or even baby showers!

Please let me know in the comments if you've tried these bath bombs, or know of any other shops with awesome bath products!

*Disclaimer: I am not being paid for this review, all opinions are my own. As stated I received these products as a gift.*

Nails: Cherries, Dots, and Plaid OH MY!

Cherries, polka dots and plaid! These nails were really fun to do! They were a little different than what I normally do, when I do prints I usually do the print on all my nails or just an accent. I like that these had lots of different designs!

I learned how to do the cherry print from a CutePolish YouTube video, she made it so simple! Once I saw the video I knew I wanted to recreate it but slightly different. The cherries are super easy to do, you just have to make dots and then the little stems. I used my dotting tool for the dots, but you could use a nail art pen or the end of a sewing pin or even a dull pencil. For the stems I used a nail art paint brush, but again you could use a nail art pen or a tooth pick. Next I did the dots, which are self explanatory haha. Then I couldn't decide if I wanted another cherry nail or something else. I remembered a video I saw a while back on an "alternative" plaid design (I don't remember who made the video). I drew you guys a sort of tutorial/diagram on how to do the plaid, don't laugh I did it in Paint haha! One tip for the plaid is to make sure your red lines are dry before doing the white ones, because it'll turn your white lines pink if you don't wait. Hope the diagram makes sense.

I got lots of compliments on these nails, and I'd totally do them again (I don't recreate very many of my designs)! I'd say these nails are slightly advanced beginner, if you can do dots and lines you should be fine.

Hi-Hi!

Glitter, shimmer, glitz, shine, sparkle, glimmer, dazzle I love it all! It doesn't matter what it is if it sparkles I pretty much want it. Even more if it's pink AND sparkly. I've been wanting to start a blog for a while and could never really decide what to write about, then I thought why not just write one on the things you buy the most and the things you really enjoy doing? Duh, I know, hahaha! Could it really be that easy? Write about the things I love? I sure hope so because that's what I'm going to do!
